In what can be seen as a big upset for Oklahoma City Thunder fans everywhere we lost game 5 of the playoffs 111-87 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe Bryan brought out his A-Game and really showed NBA fans everywhere why he is the seven-time NBA ALl-Defensive First Team member. Kevin Durant was blocked at every turn by the Lakers forward Ron Artest and that left it up to Russell Westbrook to pick up the difference. Unfortunately for the Oklahoma City Thunder that attempt was blocked by Kobe Bryant’s outstanding game play throughout the game.

The game was looking very dismal at half time when the lakers were up 55-34. After that Laker’s brought their lead even higher in the third quarter to a 32 point lead.

We are all looking forward to game 6 at the Ford Center to see what Scott Brooks, the Oklahoma City Thunder coach, will come up with to counter the LA Lakers. I’m sure we can pull through and show some real strategy in order to bring home another win. It is going to help a great deal that we will be playing at our home court at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City.

Game 6 will be be this Friday night, I’m feeling a comeback win.

I’m constantly asked what channels will the Oklahoma City Thunder Games will be aired on, so I put together a list of all of the different games for this historic first round of the NBA Basketball Playoffs against the LA Lakers.

The Oklahoma City Thunder has added 2 new players to our roster. The new players are Thabo Sefolsha from Chicago and Malik Rose from new York. Both were done as separate unrelated deals. General Manager Sam Presti has said that they haven’t decided when Rose and Sefolosha will join the OKC Thunder.

In order to add these two new players to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the basketball team decided to waive on the not often used center Mo Sene.

Sam Presti also believes that these two new additions will help build the Oklahoma City Thunder into a well structures team that will better be able to cope with the rest of the league. We have already come pretty far from where a lot of people expected and I think moving forward we will be able to really show that Oklahoma City is truly a big league NBA team.

The Oklahoma City Thunder has announced that Rumble the Bison will be the new mascot for the Oklahoma basketball team. With the new OKC Thunder mascot sporting a white Thunder uniform and his name on the back Rumble missed his first dunk off of a pass from a member of the dunk team. Quite the introduction for the new Thunder Mascot.

Brian Byrnes, the Thunder’s senior VP of ticket sales said that the mascot’s name was choen based on the sound of thunder and the sound of bison, which is Oklahoma’s state animal for those of you not in the know.

Byrnes went on to say that “The bison is apowerful, surprisingly fast, close-nkit and travels as a herd, and represents the Thunder in an appropriate way.”

I think Rumble the bison works as the new Oklahoma City Thunder mascot, I have received some emails for people that would have liked to see Thor as the mascot but I’m sure that idea was passed on early on.

Reports come from the forums that the image to the right here is the new Oklahoma City Thunder Logo. The logo that you see on the Basketball looks a little retro, I really hope that it turns out to be a fake. If this logo is the real deal though it looks like the Oklahoma City Thunder colors are blue, yellow and orange. Which aren’t bad colors to use but definitely a surprise.

Supposedly the story goes that someone working in a distribution center took a picture with their cell phone of this basketball and sent it anonymously to several people.

We’ll all find out on Wednesday what the real logo and colors are going to be. If anyone has any more information about this being real or fake please leave a comment so we can get to the bottom of this!

3:45PM Update: As you will see in the comments in looks like the NBA has further leaked the Thunder logo you see above, as well as the Oklahoma City Thunder name in their apparel store. Only an hour to go for the official announcement.

5:13 Update: Oklahoma City NBA site has a OKC Thunder shop available where you can purchase some gear.

The Oklahoma City’s NBA team is expected to officially announce the new OKC Basketball team name on Wednesday, September 3rd at 5PM CDT. Not only are they going to be announcing the name but they are also going to be unveiling the new logo and team colors for the Oklahoma City Thunder. I’m working closely with some of the people involved with the Oklahoma City Thunder to get the logo early so that I can redesign this blog to be more appropriately fashioned after the logo and colors of the Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball team.

At the 5PM unveiling of the new Thunder logo and colors there will be an exclusive sale of OKC Thunder apparel in downtown Oklahoma City at Leadership Square. The press conference should be exciting, and I’m sure everyone is just as anxious to find out the colors for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Some have speculated that the Thunder isn’t in relation to Thunder/Lightning but in relation to the Thundering bison. That isn’t the case, otherwise our team name would be the Oklahoma City Bison. As soon as I can get a copy of the new Oklahoma City Thunder Logo and Oklahoma City Thunder colors I will provide them on the site. I expect I will be at the unveiling and purchase some of the new apparel.

I will create a new theme for this site as soon as the colors and logo are announced for the Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball team. I wouldn’t want to create a design that is too different from the actual team itself. I’m sure that the team will not end up using the black and white colors that the Oklahoma City NBA jerseys currently have. As soon as I found out what everything is going to look like for the new Oklahoma City NBA team I will have a new design and try to simultaneously announce to everyone the colors, logo and any new information I find out about the Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball team. The NBA has announced the ticket prices for our new Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball team. The tickets are some of the most affordable basketball tickets in the league.  The Oklahoma City NBA has begun contacting all that had asked for tickets on Saturday, the list is said to be at about 18,000. More than half of the seats at the Ford Center will sell for less than $50 per a game and at least 3400 seats will be available for just $10.

It looks like Oklahoma City Basketball fans will be able to watch the game pretty inexpensively this season. I’m sure the price is set so low to create some new Oklahoma City Thunder fans. Don’t think that all of the better seats will be as cheap though. Premium seats will cost around $250 a game. The team said that just because you aren’t on the list doesn’t mean you are out of luck for season tickets. It is always on a first come first serve basis so contact the Oklahoma City Thunder ASAP to schedule an appointment for season tickets. The seat selection process will begin on September 8th at the Oklahoma City Ford Center. The Oklahoma City NBA has aquired a few new team members for the 2008-2009 Basketball season. The new NBA players for Oklahoma City will be Joe Smith and Desmond Mason from the Bucks. The trade was for Adfrian Griffin and Luke Ridnour who were sent to the Bucks. Also Kyle Weaver will be part of the Oklahoma City Thunder team, coming from the Charlotte Bobcats. Kyle Weaver was selected 38th overall draft by the Bobcats and the Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball team sent New Yersey’s 2009 2nd round pick to Charlotte.

Also news has reached us that Devon Hardin will be heading to Turkey instead of playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

It has been announced by the Oklahoma City Basketball Chairman, Clay Bennett, that regular season tickets should go on sale around the first of September. With this bit of news Oklahoma City Basketball fans will have to wait another month begin purchasing tickets for the 2008-2009 NBA Regular Season Games.
